About our Chapter

Every NCL, Inc. chapter is chartered with specific boundary limitations. Founded in 2003, the Heart of Texas Chapter focuses primarily on community needs within inner loop Houston. To qualify for Heart of Texas, a prospective Patroness must live, at the time of her application, within Loop 610 or in Bellaire or her daughter must attend school inside Loop 610.

Who We Are

The Heart of Texas Chapter membership is made up of over 400 Patronesses and Ticktockers. Our Ticktockers attend over 25 different middle and high schools around greater Houston and represent a variety of backgrounds and cultures.

Our chapter contributes approximately 10,000 volunteer hours each year and serves 30 local philanthropies addressing a wide variety of community needs, from hunger and homelessness to the arts.

Our members develop leadership skills by planning, running, and participating in regular meetings and by working together to organize various annual chapter events, including a fashion show, formal teas, and awards and recognition ceremonies.

We value cultural and educational engagement and offer members opportunities to work with and learn from local organizations devoted to both. Our 6-year Ticktocker program is designed to provide young women with important skills they can apply in middle school, high school, college and beyond.
